superhero mask
superhero mask

This is a mask that is designed to conceal your secret identity, as well as the top half of your face. Because, as everyone knows, it's impossible to recognize someone who's wearing what's essentially a blindfold with holes in it. Naturally, when you have a name like 'PastaBandit32', 'Arthur Al Dente', or 'Quato', as most people in the Kingdom seem to have, it's important that no one knows who you are. Just remember, never give your secret identity away to anyone, except your 75-year-old butler. 'Cause, y'know, who is he gonna tell?

Notes

  • This item is obtained by typing a code into Chat; /redeem XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. The code is entered in place of the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. The code was obtained by attending Comic-Con 2006 and visiting Asymmetric Publications personnel at their booth. The code can only be used once.
  • This item unlocks three superhero avatars, one for each type of class. The first is reminiscent of the Incredible Hulk and is displayed by muscle classes, the second is masked similarly to Spider-Man and is available to mysticality classes, and the third is a generic masked and caped hero available to moxie classes, maybe a Robin-type.
    Incredible Hulk Spider-Man Robin
  • On 22 July 2006, at approximately 22:55 Pacific Daylight Time, Xenophobe issued the following system message in chat:
System Message: In general, we'd prefer if you didn't trade for redeem codes. However, if you do, know that there's no secure way to trade for them, and you can be scammed, and we won't have your back.
  • Typing an incorrect code into Chat generates a green message stating "Invalid code.".
  • Trying codes rapidly after receiving the above message generates a green message stating "Not so fast.", most likely to prevent brute force from earning players items.

References

  • The 75-year old butler is a reference to Batman's butler, Alfred.
  • All 3 of the player names in the descripton were real player names (all three are now inactive).
