This is a sword whose blade was forged from the crystalline essence of time. The way it works is sort of interesting. It's not at all sharp, but touching a monster with it sends them forward in time to a point where they get cut by somebody else, then immediately brings them back. As with all time travel issues, the most difficult part to deal with is the grammar.
