The stairway to the next level down is guarded by a ferocious n-Headed Hydra. Looks like you've got a lot of heads to chop off if you want to get any further.
You're fighting A n-Headed HydraYou're fighting a hydra with n heads. Each of the heads has a mouth, and each mouth is trying to bite you. Or rather, the hydra is trying to bite you with each mouth.
Come to think of it, though, since each head ostensibly has a brain in it, do you suppose it's really a single monster you're fighting, or n different monsters that share a body from the neck down?
You sit pondering this for a few moments, and then abruptly realize that you're in the middle of a battle, and that you should probably start paying attention.
It tries to bite you in several different places at once, but ends up straining three of its necks.
