Misc Familiar Equipment

The effects of the Rat head Balloon are -3 to famil. lvl. Does that include -2 lbs? If so what are the effects of say... a -2 lb leprechaun farming a 2 meat drop monster? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zafoquat (talkcontribs) at 15:49, 11 June 2007 (CDT).

  • Familiar level cannot be reduced below 1 - if you try, it will just be capped. --Quietust (t|c) 09:29, 12 June 2007 (CDT)

Is there something different about the penguin-smacking club that leads to it being in the "Misc Familiar Equipment" table? --Snickles 22:37, 27 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

  • The penguin-smacking club is the Baby Yeti's familiar equiptment. You may be thinking of the seal-clubbing club, the initial equiptment for Seal Clubbers. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ceelgohsplatt (talkcontribs) at 22:44, 27 July 2005 (CDT).
    • I was wondering why it was on the Misc table, rather than the table with all of the other familiar equipment. But on a second reading, I notice that it increases familiar damage, not level. So, I am just unable to read. --Snickles 22:58, 27 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
      • I can't read either - I was about to pitch a fit about having erred so annoyingly on the annoying pitchfork, when I said to myself "Fork it, we're all entitled to our mistakes!"  :~) --Gymnosophist 00:02, 28 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
  • Is there even any reason why this page lists all the Familiar Equipment that doesn't at all modify Familiar Weight? To me, this section feels entirely out of place. Of course, currently the plastic pumpkin bucket, lucky Tam O'Shanter/Shatner, miniature gravy-covered maypole, and wax lips are listed in the section. If the section is removed they would have to be moved to the Weight Altering Familiar Specific Equipment section, which in turn would probably have the specific part dropped. I mean, there's already an entire page that deals with all the familiar equipment so why are we listing irrelevant information here? Well, I guess by looking at the history, it looks like the reason it's listed is because it started here before the Familiar Equipment was had it's own page (it just had a category). --TheDotGamer 20:17, 7 January 2007 (CST)

Abbreviations

I've reinstated the fam equip abbreviations. The reasoning behind this is that abbreviations, naturally enough, abbreviate the text. This in turn gives more space to other fields in the table such as the notes field, thus improving overall readability. The use of the unabbreviated "familiar equipment" additionally meant that every fam equip record in the table was expanded to fill two lines whereas in most cases, one line sufficed when using "fam equip". Additionally, I point out that these tables often make use of abbreviations such as "TT Passive Skill". If, perchance, a reader is ignorant of the intended meaning, they can simply click the the provided source link for a fuller explanation. These tables provide summary information on a particular dimension of gameplay and are not meant to provide exhaustive detail. --Gymnosophist 23:21, 18 April 2006 (CDT)

Wild Hare Description

Doesn't the descriptionon the Wild Hares equipment state "Makes March Hare More Better"? If so shouldn't it be "more better" in the table? --Winterbay 17:43, 25 April 2006 (GMT-1)

  • Yes, and that's why I just changed it back, along with updating a few others accordingly. --Quietust 10:53, 25 June 2006 (CDT)

Highest Possible

What's the highest possible weight a normal familiar can have at one time (e.g. mosquito, ghoul)? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Emouse33 (talkcontribs) at 12:42, 9 April 2007 (CDT).

  • 70 for most familiars. I've updated the article with a paragraph for details. --TheDotGamer 01:03, 10 April 2007 (CDT)

Natural familiar weight gains

Quote from the page: "The following is a comprehensive list of everything in the game that affects familiar weight." What about base familiar weight? There is only a list of items altering the weight, and items are not "everything in the game" affecting familiar weigth. I think there should be some kind of list saying how many kills it takes for a familiar to go from weight X to weight X+1. Maybe it is somewhere else in this wiki, but I can not find it and it should be here. --Asimovmov 06:02, 11 April 2007 (CDT)

I'm kinda wondering why we have a chart of tiny plastic effects. Like, duh. --NoHassles 21:06, 3 June 2007 (CDT)
