Text Under Items
Should we attempt to archive the descriptions Jick provides under the items in the Mr. Store? --Alpaca (T/C) 23:29, 31 July 2006 (CDT)
- On each familiar page, the "function" (for each Mr. Store familiar) is usually (when I added them at least) the description you speak of. --JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 23:33, 31 July 2006 (CDT)
- Some Mr. Store items have their store descriptions in their notes section, but we are missing some, and especially Mr. Store familiars retired pre-wiki.--JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 23:37, 31 July 2006 (CDT)
- Hmm, we probably should gather them all up and see what we are missing, but where should we put them all? This page? Format with borderless tables on one line? Would it make this page too long? etc. --JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 00:04, 1 August 2006 (CDT)
- I'm sure here is fine.--Dehstil (t|c) 16:27, 1 August 2006 (CDT)
Notes
As I said at Talk:Astral Badger should notes like the ones on Astral Badger, ice baby, ice pick, ice skates, and ice sickle be on every applicable page or just on this page?--Dehstil (t|c) 16:27, 1 August 2006 (CDT)
- I think that as long as it mentions that the item in question is the IOTM, it should be enough - that in itself implies account undeletability. --Alpaca (T/C) 17:18, 1 August 2006 (CDT)
- Ok, one more quick question. What Mr. Store items can you use in hardcore, none? And do the ice items count or is iceberglet technically the Mr. Store item?--Dehstil (t|c) 20:50, 1 August 2006 (CDT)
- I think (In hardcore) you can use/hatch Mr. Store familiars, but can't equip any Mr. Store equipment. So use/aqueeze iceberglet, yes, equip no. They all (past ones) end up stuck in Hangk's when ascending hardcore anyway.--JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 23:17, 1 August 2006 (CDT)

I think we are forgetting something. *cough*newmrstorefamiliars*cough* --The preceding unsigned comment was added by ChickensAreFluffy (talk • contribs) at 00:45, 6 October 2006 (CST).
Bad Penguin Egg
As a supposed April Fool's Joke, on the March 31 update, Jick released the April's IoTM bad penguin egg into the Mr. Store, but the Mr. Store claimed it to be a "March's Monthly Special". However, the day after April Fool's rollover, the penguin egg was still there, and it still said "March's Monthly Special". Coding error? - Jewel12345
- I could have sworn it said April today, maybe they were just slow-on-the-draw and forgot to change it. And speculation is best served via talk pages than in the actual article, I swear we attempt to make the wiki articles at least a little professional/formal... sometimes... maybe. ;-) --JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 22:48, 2 April 2007 (CDT)
nodelete flag
Do you still get the nodelete flag if you have a Mr. Store familiar? Or does using the hatchling get rid of the nodelete flag?--Aznpride05 17:04, 11 April 2007 (CDT)
- The page states: "Having a Mr. Store item, familiar, or skill at rollover..." Hatchlings count as Mr. Store items so keeping a hatchling without using it will mark your account no delete. As will using an item that grants a new familiar or skill. --TheDotGamer 00:22, 12 April 2007 (CDT)
Does the nodelete flag EVER get unset?--Almightysapling 03:42, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- No --Azrane 18:13, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Febtober?
I was looking in Mr. Store today and it says that the Mayflower Bouquet is "Febtober's monthly special." Link to pic [[1]]
I go back to it and it changes back to may. This has happened to me once before, any reason why it randomly shows up? Has this happened to anyone else?--Creamy 15:13, 1 June 2007 (CDT)
- The only place Febtober is known to appear regularly is on the Calendar of Loathing, in place of Porktober. Are you running KoLmafia or using any special scripts? --Quietust (t|c) 15:28, 1 June 2007 (CDT)
- Some greasemonkey scripts but none that add Febtober, I've checked. No KoLMafia either, and I've seen it before I ever installed any scripts. Just randomly shows up.--Creamy 15:31, 1 June 2007 (CDT)
Eventually Move Previous Offerings?
October Marks the start of the fourth year of Mr. Store. The page gets just a little longer every month (and three times longer than usual in October). I'm pondering if it would be a good idea to eventually split the Previous items into their own page. It'd allow the Mr. Store page to stay concise. Just a thought. --Azrane 09:43, 4 October 2007 (CDT)
I think the page length and its tendency to lengthen are fine. I'm also of the opinion that people tend to be too timid to let a page get long, and as a result too often a single topic will be unduly divided among several pages. I for one like concise yet comprehensive pages exactly like this Mr. Store page. --Nigh Throbbing 11:00, 4 October 2007 (CDT)
Yearly Familiars
As many may have noticed, there hasn't been a release on the yearly familiars that have so religiously dropped every October 6th, replacing previous Volleychauns and Fairychauns and giving us new familiars in their wake. Any thought on what could be holding up this drop, if it may eeven occur this year.--Crack Jackie 10:45, 8 October 2007 (CDT)
- In a recent radio show, Jick (or Skully) has basically said that since they know what it will do (i.e. fairychaun, volley/lep), they're not in a hurry to push it out until they have an idea for the familiar itself is going to be. They'd rather be a week or three late than push a familiar name they're not enamored with. --J12601 17:48, 8 October 2007 (CDT)
- Skully said on tonight's show (Oct. 8), that unless something goes wrong (which is unlikely), the familiars will be updated tonight at rollover. --Azrane 22:19, 8 October 2007 (CDT)
Reorganizing
- I'm reorganizing the Past IOTMs section into something a bit less unwieldy-- the list is getting really, really long. It shall be... A table! Much more compact. And I totally have a fetish for tables. --TechSmurf 23:50, 1 May 2008 (CDT)
Previous Offerings Table
Okay, that looks nice in principle, but it makes the page rather...unpleasantly wide. I think it might be better to put the years on the top and months on the side. For now, at least. Once the game gets old enough it'll become a fat-ass table again. --Flargen 00:51, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
- Hmm. Seems to work fine on my screen. --TechSmurf 00:58, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
- Wait, I just remembered I blocked the ad on the right. Okay, I can see how that would get crowded with less screen-space. --TechSmurf 00:59, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
- You must have a much higher resolution than me. And I have that ad blocked, too. I'm working at 1024x768. And the table spills off the visible screen about midway through "October". I tend to judge whether something is too large or not by whether or not it causes a horizontal scroll bar to appear on my screen. Which means I am currently every so slightly irked by the Mad Hatrack table, as well; I'd gotten it non-scrolly until the whelp formulas were added in. --Flargen 01:02, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
- So, I've tried various ways of shrinking the text down, and none of them seem to be working. The only other thing I can think of is to just have linked images by way of template:click. --TechSmurf 02:29, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
- It's pretty close right now. A slight bit of extra scrollbar (with the ad blocked), but not much. I can see all of the table without needing to scroll. Have you tried putting the years on top? Like this:

- Hm, split years up into half-years? Code is ugly, but... so is sidescroll. --Bagatelle 16:25, 4 May 2008 (CDT)
- I like this idea, as it means that there is not now, nor will there ever BE the necessity to sidescroll. 1440 is JUST wide enough to get it the way it is now... even ONE mystical book next year will have a name long enough to push the bounds.--Almightysapling 03:57, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

- I apparently completely missed this update. Anyway, I tried switching the chart around. Feedback? --TechSmurf 00:25, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
- Works for me. Any reason you left the font size at 85%? Everything should fit without scroll bars at 100% for 1024x768 and with the ad blocked. Does it also remove the bar with the ad unblocked, maybe? --Flargen 00:31, 5 May 2008 (CDT)
- I forgot to remove the size tag. Also, just checked it on another computer with the ad present, and it was fine. --TechSmurf 00:34, 5 May 2008 (CDT)

- I have 1024x768 and the ad to the side is blocked off and the page is still stupidly wide.--Xsmootx 01:19, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
- I have 1440x900 on my laptop, and it's just small enough for my screen. --Aprocalypse 01:16, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
- I'm running 1280x800 and if the ad wasn't blocked, it would be causing me problems. Although it might look a bit daft initially, how about flipping it on it's side, with years at the top and months down the side? --Melon 06:29, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
I like the table. Gratz on all who are working on it.--Pakrat 19:50, 2 May 2008 (CDT)
Looks much better, good job shrinking it down. --Xsmootx 02:37, 6 May 2008 (CDT)
I don't care much for this table business at all. It looks awkward and smacks of putting a table on the page just because a table could be put on the page, whether it should or not. I understand where the table-itis is coming from, but the previous simple list was the lesser of the two evils. --Nigh Throbbing 04:09, 31 July 2008 (CDT)
The table's even wider now, with 2009 upon us. Would it help to go through and put break tags in the longer-named items? Can this be done in a way that doesn't break the wiki-linking?--StDoodle 20:09, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
