And maybe established guidelines for the following besides the creation help at Help:Contents
- Clan Pages
- When I looked at those in Proposed Standards, I really wasn't sure if that warranted a standard for the bulk of wiki editors, or if that was just a stylish thing to put in your player page. As for the larger issue of clan pages, I really don't have any standards to go by. I mean, some are clones of Trog Dor's stuff, and the rest are really just whatever the relevant people want to do with them. They mostly seem more like vanity pages than informational pages. Which brings me to my next commnet... --Alpaca 22:09, 26 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
- Player Pages
- There's a rather large, unresolved discussion going on about this, and so I really don't have any guidelines. I suppose we could make a note about a few obvious things, like that you shouldn't use this as a freewebs site, or that you shouldn't be some other sort of obnoxious bandwidth vampire. I guess we do need a set of guidelines for vanity pages in general. Hmm.... --Alpaca 22:09, 26 November 2005 (Central Standard Time)
A specific question, related to a statistical compilation I've started: If I wish to indicate the chance of an item drop on a given monster in the location page and in the page describing the monster, what format do you think this inclusion should take / do you think I should just leave this information out of the wiki? --Yiab 05:36, 12 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
- Make one up, and throw it into Proposed Standards! --Alpaca 15:19, 12 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
Horizontal Scrolling
The horizontal scrolling is annoying - perhaps use <code> instead of the initial-space automatic <pre>, and break up the arguments of templates to different lines. AySz88^-^ 01:45, 16 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
- Arg. I attempted to make it a <div> using Template:Example, but that screws up newlines and spacing... Also b/c of the <nowiki> tags being passed into it. Stupid preformatted text (<pre>) and its unrulely widths. Hmmm. --JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 02:36, 16 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
- Hmm, what's generating the <pre> tags? There aren't any in the page text that I can find. Does starting a line with a space to get the box also enable the <pre> formatting? For a suggestion, what about <tt> instead? That would get you the monospaced font, but should allow lines to wrap instead of going on forever. -- Old Ned 03:58, 16 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)
A Bug?
The image CrimboHat.gif appears in the top left corner of the page (over the E in Established Standards) instead of where it should. Is this happening for everyone else? I looked at the template for toymaking and a couple of similar ones, and the toymaking one is different... --Payback 15:49, 22 March 2006 (CST)
Breaking up....
Should this page be broken up into smaller pieces? It's a bit confusing and overwhelming to look at this whole page... But perhaps making an Established Standards:Item Pages page and an Established Standards:Location Pages page, etc... might make it a bit less daunting to learn the standards? This page could then keep its current listing at the top and point off to the other pages.... Opinions on this? --jin 20:00, 8 April 2006 (CDT)
- I like it! --Gymnosophist 20:28, 8 April 2006 (CDT)
- P.S. Hi, long time no see! :)
- I was just about to suggest the same thing. --RyokoYahagi 15:03, 12 April 2006 (CDT)
Wikipedia links
