Upon locating Fernswarthy's grave while completing the Wizard of Ego quest, a scorch mark appears south of The Misspelled Cemetary in The Nearby Plains. For players who haven't ascended at least once A Small, Bright Light appears in its place.

Clicking on it gives the following message:

There's a small burned patch of ground here, smelling of used-up magical energy. You know that feeling you get from chewing on tinfoil? That's what it smells like.
