A sword, which is basically a long sharp bit of metal used to cut people with, might not be the sort of thing you'd consider worth overcomplicating with elaborate clockwork machinery. And you'd be right. Still, the whirling cogs and gears do a pretty good job of mangling things.
Type: weapon (2-handed sword)
Power: 80
Muscle Required: 25
Selling Price: 200 Meat.Melee Damage +10
3x chance of Critical Hit
Heals 3-24 HP on Critical Hit
(In-game plural: clockwork swords)

Notes
- The following message is received when making a critical hit:
- CRITICAL HIT! Something inside your clockwork sword goes *click*, and it begins to vibrate, healing you. Somehow. I guess it's true what they say about sufficiently advanced technology.
![]() | You gain 3−24 hit points. |
References
- In the description of the effect this item produces, "sufficiently advanced technology" alludes to Arthur C. Clarke's often quoted 3rd law, "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".
