This is the corpse of a mimic that was, prior to its having been slain by you, mimicking a chest.
Effectively, it's a chest.

- This item resembles the dead mimic item from NetHack. A mimic will often take the form of a treasure chest or another seemingly valuable object to lure unsuspecting adventurers into its grasp.
