Combat Messages

<name> Spins and gives different results:
  • Shin = <name> spins and lands on Shin. <name> flies towards your foe and whacks it in both shins (doing X damage per shin.)
  • Heh = <name> spins and lands on Heh. <name> tells you some ancient mystical jokes, and with each "heh" you feel your Mana/Mojo/Muscularity Points rise.
  • Nun = <name> spins and lands on Nun. Suddenly, you're dressed as a nun and the monster doesn't want to attack you.
  • Gimmel = <name> spins and lands on Gimmel. <name> gimmels you some Meat.
<name> takes an extra spin and lands on Gimmel. It gimmels you an extra stack o' meat.
<name> dances a little Hava Nagila around the maypole.
<name> spins again and lands with the wax lips facing up in a very kosher smile.

Notes

  • When the Nun result occurs, the monster won't attack you that turn, similar to the effects of a procrastination potion.

References

  • The name of this familiar is a play on a Hanukkah Dreidl, a traditional Jewish spinning top related to the Holiday of Hanukkah. Anyone Jewish will find the haiku, name, and combat messages hilarious.
  • The last line of the haiku is a reference to the line "joy to you and me" from the song Joy to the World (the Three Dog Night version, not the popular Christmas version).
