Mer-kin prayerbeads
This is a little loop of string with obsidian beads on it. Each bead is carved with a strange, creepy-looking symbol -- a symbol that seems to shimmer and shift as you look at it (with your beady little eyes.)

Sometimes in (only underwater? only Mer-Kin Outpost?) combat a Mer-kin healer will heal your opponent:
 | A nearby Mer-kin healer chants something in a dire, hideously malformed language. It sounds like two cats fighting in a bowlful of apostrophes and consonants. A grotesque green ball of light emerges from his chest and envelops your opponent for a moment. |
