The League of Chef-Magi can be found on the Right Side of the Tracks in the Seaside Town. This is where the Saucerors and Pastamancers learn their skills and buy their special goodies. Accordion Thieves may also enter Gouda's Grimoire and Grocery after level 9.
Initiation

Gorgonzola, the Chief Chef
Gorgonzola decides whether or not you may enter the guild by giving you tasks and judging your ability to complete them. Upon completion of the first three tasks, you are elegible for training by Brie. Upon completion of the fourth task, you are permitted to purchase items from Gouda's Grimoire and Grocery.
First task
- The first task is to make a sandwich, using only the power of your mind. Mysticality of 7(unbuffed) or 5 or higher(buffed) might succeed.
- Reward: Access to the Barrel full of Barrels, 2 concentrated magicalness pills, a giant moxie weed, and 2 Knob Goblin superseltzers.
- Message before doing it:
- Gorgonzola, the leader of the League of Chef-Magi, nods to you as you approach him. "In order to join the League, <name>, you must first complete a task I have designed to test your aptitude in the ways of Mysticalness."
- He points to a nearby table, which is covered in sandwich fixins.
- "Make me a sandwich, using only the power of your mind..."
- Message when failing it:
- You concentrate on the fixins, but only succeed in making a mess.
- Gorgonzola looks at you sadly.
- Message when completing it:
- You concentrate on the fixins. They rise into the air and coalesce into a perfectly formed sandwich.
- "Delicious," says Gorgonzola. "You are now an Initiate of the League of Chef-Magi.
- He hands you a few items, adding "These may come in handy. If you need more, you can acquire more of them at the Barrel Full of Barrels, in the Big Mountains. I'll mark it on your map.
You acquire 2? concentrated magicalness pills You acquire 1? giant moxie weeds You acquire 0−2? Knob Goblin superseltzers
Second task
- The second task is to guess a number. Mysticality of 12 or higher succeeds.
- Message before doing it:
- Gorgonzola smiles benevolently at you as you approach. "Are you ready for your second task, Initiate? Here it is: I am thinking of a number between 1 and 100. If you can tell me what number it is, I will give you permission to use the League's meatcar.
- Message when failing it:
- You send out psychic feelers into Gorgonzola's brain.
- "42?" you ask.
- "Wrong."
- Message when completing it:
- You send out psychic feelers into Gorgonzola's brain. The answer comes to you almost immediately.
- "11," you say.
- Gorgonzola smiles broadly. "Well done. You may now use the guild meatcar. Blaine will tell you where he parked it."
Third task
- The third task is to defeat the Chief Chef at Wizard's Hangman. Mysticality of 16 or higher might succeed.
- Message before doing it:
- "Only one task remains, Initiate. To become a full member of the League of Chef-Magi, you must defeat me at the game we Magical types like best -- Wizard's Hangman."
- Message when failing it:
- You play several rounds of Wizard's Hangman against Gorgonzola, and he trounces you soundly.
- "Come back when your Magicalness (and your vocabulary) is more developed."
- Message when completing it:
- After several games of Wizard's Hangman, you emerge victorious.
- Gorgonzola bows to you. "Congratulations, <name>."
Fourth task
- The fourth task is to pull 10 meat out of the Chief Chef's ear. Mysticality of 21 or higher succeeds.
- Message before doing it:
- Gorgonzola nods at you. "Well met, fellow Chef. To gain entrance to our guild's grocery store, you must again prove your worth. Your challenge is thus: Pull 10 Meat out of my ear."
- Message when failing it:
- You try to conjure the requested Meat, but lose your concentration. A pile of ears falls to the ground beneath Gorgonzola's meat.
- He grimaces disapprovingly.
- Message when completing it:
- You deftly conjure 10 Meat and pull it from behind Gorgonzola's ear.
- "Nicely executed," he says. "Now you may shop at our store."
On subsequent visits
- You have already passed all of the challenges of your Guild.

Quests

Blaine
- Message before having the level requirement of the bitchin' meatcar quest, or the first time you visit if you completed the quest before the guild changes were made:
- You approach the large oak crate, and peer into the slot on the side. To your surprise, a pair of eyes blink at you from within.
- "Oh, hello," says a voice from the crate. "I'm Blaine. And before you ask, I'm locked in here for one of my final tests as a fully-cerfitied Mysticologist. I'm supposed to magic my way out of it, you see. Can't quite seem to get it, but I'm sure I'll have it any day now.
- Just between you and me, though, it's a real pain, and that is the truth."
- Message on initial visit:
- You ask Blaine about the meatcar.
- You see his eyes widen behind the slot in his crate.
- "Oh, man, the meatcar! I totally forgot. I left it parked over by Degrassi Knoll... I was gonna go back and get it, but, well, y'know... the crate and all.
- The gnolls have probably stripped it for parts by now, anyway. Here's a list of what you'll need to build a new one."
You acquire Degrassi Knoll shopping lists
- Message on subsequent visits:
- "Any luck with the car? Once you've got all of the parts, you can use meat paste to put them together."
- Message after having built the bitchin' meatcar:
- "You rebuilt the meatcar? Thanks a lot! Sounds to me like you could use a vacation after that. Shove your map through the slot here, and I'll give you directions to the beach.
- South of the Border is a nice place to relax, but there's also a travel agency down there if you want to go somewhere a little more exotic."
- Message after having built the bitchin' meatcar and talked to him at least once before:
- You knock on the side of the crate, and ask "S'alright?"
- A voice inside mutters "S'alright."

References
- The names of the three NPCs - "Gouda" , "Brie" and "Gorgonzola" - are the names of three different cheeses.
- The name Blaine, and the line "it's a real pain, and that is the truth," are references to Stephen King's Dark Tower series, particularly Book 3, The Waste Lands.
- The name Blaine is also a reference to David Blaine, a magician and showman who spent 44 days living in a box without food.
- "S'alright?" "S'alright" is a reference to Señor Wences, the famous Spanish ventriloquist. Part of his act involved having the aforesaid exchange with a "head in a box" named Pedro.
- The fail text for the second task references Douglas Adams's book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, in which 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything (everything logically encompassing the answer to this task).
- The number Gorgonzola is thinking of is 11, looks familiar?
