- You clobber him/her/it in the forehead with the hilt of your sword.
- You slice him/her/it across the <arm> for X damage.
- You slap him/her/it on the <arm> with the flat of your blade, dealing X damage (and producing a satisfying thwap sound.)
- You hamstring him/her/it for X damage. Mmm, ham. And... mmm, string
- You slice, dice, and then re-slice him/her/it for X damage.
- You whirl around and cut him/her/it right across his midsection, doing X damage.

- The Vorpal Blade appeared in D&D and then in NetHack, where the ")" symbol was used to represent weapons dropped on the ground. In either instance, the Vorpal Blade is notorious for beheading, delimbing, or otherwise mutilating one's enemies.
