Talk:A Jukebox
Bought the Jukebox for my Multi's clan (which has no members but himself in it). Here's what I've gotten so far.
This jukebox has a staggering four songs available for play. Which one would you like to hear?
Material Orc
It's Okay, Don't Stress Out
Boom Boom Boom Boomboom Boom
Awrrashalla Hummboodaba
(-When Material Orc is selected)
You press the button, but nothing happens. You shout "Heyyyyyy!" and hit the jukebox with your elbow, and it abruptly starts playing. You feel a brief urge to put on a white undershirt and a leather jacket, but it passes.
The jukebox plays the 1980's-era tune "Material Orc." You put on some legwarmers and listen while you dance like a maniac, maniac on the floor. It's a song all about how women don't like men who aren't wealthy. It's sung by a woman, though, so it's okay. You sing along with the chorus: "for I am wielding a material spork / And I am a material orc." It makes you more determined than ever to get as much meat as you can.
You acquire an effect: Material Witness (duration: 10 Adventures)
After listening to one song, all subsequent attempts seem to reult in the following message (or I have bad RNG luck, but I'm betting it's a one-song-per-day thing):
You press the button, but nothing happens. You shout "Heyyyyyy!" and hit the jukebox with your elbow. Nothing continues to happen, but now your elbow hurts. Guess the thing is actually broken. You lose 1 hit point.
"Material Witness" effect:
Material Witness
You have a song about materialistic women stuck in your head. It makes you keep an even sharper eye out for Meat than you usually would.
And dude, you should probably quit sharpening your eyes. That can't be good for you.
I'll put up more tomorrow, if it isn't already added.--Kenjoki Ikari 02:08, 18 October 2006 (CDT)
"You shout "Heyyyyyy!" and hit the jukebox with your elbow, and it abruptly starts playing." Is a reference to Fonzie in the 50's TV series Happy Days, who would regularly hit the jukebox with his elbow to get it to play. The Fonz also happened to wear "a white undershirt and a leather jacket"

Possible need of content
Several things involving getting hit by unconventional standards make you get 4 turns of Beaten Up, like putting a Micro Mech familiar thing in your terrarium. So does getting beaten up from the 1 hit point damage cause 3 or 4 turns of Beaten Up? Just something to test. --Hunter tRG 16:04, 18 October 2006 (CDT)
Maybe someone should try to figure out what "X" is in the last 3 songs in the jukebox. --Coolguy00001 15:39, 28 December 2006 (CST)
Possible References
In the song Aroobarah (or something like that), one of the "words is "harakrishna". Sound familiar? (I am the Walrus) It's also a song by itself. Just something to ponder.--Civilizati 3 20:24, 27 October 2006 (CDT)
Damage if you already have an effect?
I repeatedly get the message that damages you, but I haven't used it today. I'm currently afflicted by Telportitis and Confused. I'm guessing that you can't acquire a Jukebox effect when you already have an effect(s?) (or buff?)active. I'll try to verify this upon the next rollover.
