- talking skulls are a common-ish trope, it seems. and riff hadn't read any dresden files. i'd say it's all monkey island since that's the first one. who knows. see also Talkative skull and Hovering Skull and some discussion of the subject. --Evilkolbot (talk) 12:26, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
- Frank may be based on Morte, the talking skull, guide, and comic sidekick from Planescape: Torment, who has a nasal accent, refers to the serially resurrected protagonist as "Chief", and (eventually) provides some backstory in which it turns out current events have been going on for a lot longer than initially supposed. --Soriah (talk) 22:00, 8 September 2019 (UTC)
