Notes

  • If you attempt to adventure here with less than 3 levels of Hot resistance, you get this message:
You can't even get close to that thing dressed the way you are. Get yourself some fireproofing!
  • If you attempt to adventure here while falling-down drunk, you get this message:
You're too drunk to do something so ill-advised and dangerous.
  • If you attempt to adventure here with no remaining adventures, you get this message:
You haven't got time to fight fire.
  • If there is a location that conflicts with a fire, the location will take priority if the conditions for accessing it are met.

History

  • Appeared on June 13, 2012, about a week after adventurers began noticing some strange occurences in Cobb's Knob. Every so often, one of the following messagers were observed:
    • "In the distance, you hear a loud whoosh, followed by the screams of several Knob Goblins."
    • "You catch a whiff of something burning. Which is normal for the Knob, I guess. But you also catch a whiff of something even more burning than usual."
    • "You look at the ground near your feet and see a massive scorch mark -- judging from the heat still rising from it, it's pretty fresh."
  • The fires have been steadily increasing every day, despite the best efforts of the FDKOL and Adventurers.
  • The way commendations were awarded changed on the second day of fire-fighting. The initial method is still somewhat unknown, all that was known is that there was a cap of 10 and possibly some sort of logarithmic scaling. On day 2, the cap was lowered to 5, however the thresholds were lowered to make it easier to get 5.
