Play Style
In a typical run I have been going teet-drop to get the extra hi mein consumption. I recently tried experimenting with pulling 5 pieces of antique armor and smashing them for the wads, and using the wads to get enough stats to get up to the Friars' Quest with the idea being that if I complete the quest before eating, I can have milk for all four meins, thus squeezing out a few extra adventures. If the first day of a run is not a main stat day, this seems fairly effective. On a stat day it may be easier to eat three meins and save one for once I'm level 8, and can make my own milk. I will probably not pull the armor for smashing when I try for a two day run over the double stat days.
Mostly I like doing 3 day runs and ending up out of ronin to cook, farm, or play around in new areas with my extra turns.
