An E.M.U. for Y.O.U.
After an eternity of protecting her fragile ass from getting killed, Axel Ottal finally tells you to turn right at the nearest pile of rubble. You do, and find a hatch in the ground, and down that hatch you finally find the assembly team's laboratory.
"Look out!" one of the scientists shouts as the two of you drop into the lab. He holds up some kind of ray gun, fires a blast, and Axel disintegrates.
"Wha -- buh -- I just spent hours protecting that kid! What the hell, man?" you shout.
"Kid? What're you, easily fooled by thought-projecting xenomorphs? That was an alien drone, you idiot! Didn't you notice the tentacles? Or the green ooze all over your hands? Sheesh."
You quickly wipe your hands on your clothes. "Oh. Huh. In that case, uh, thanks. And I brought all the parts of your L.E.M.U.R. thing."

"It's an E.M.U. unit, and thanks, I guess," the scientist snaps. He and his partner quickly assemble all the parts. "Okay, now let me explain how you control this thing --"
"How I control it? Jump back!"
The scientist looks a little sheepish. "Well, we're scientists, and we've done all the science-y bits. This is more of an adventure, and what with you being an adventurer and all . . . "
"Oh, all right," you snap, hoisting the finished device. "So I take this thing to Hamburglaris Shield Generator. Then what do I do with it?"
"The E.M.U. itself contains all the parts you need to repair the generator. Just fight your way to the generator, maneuver the E.M.U. into the right position, and we'll transport you back."
Great. This is exactly what you needed.
