 You're fighting an Axis artillery skeleton

The skeleton army's mages only know one spell, but it's Summon Bomb, which, honestly -- it's a pretty good spell. They don't really need another one. Clean Up Mess is someone else's job.

Hit Message(s):

The skeleton chants its bomb-summoning spell, causing a spectacular explosion. I mean, you probably feel differently about it, but from where I'm standing it was a really cool pyrotechnic display. Argh! Ugh! Ow! Ooh! Oof! Ooh! Ouch! Eek! Ugh! Ouch!

The skeleton gestures, and you suddenly find yourself lying on the ground with a funny ringing in your ears and less-funny shrapnel in all of the rest of you. Ooh! Argh! Ow! Ugh! Ouch! Ugh! Oof! Argh! Eek! Ow!

The skeleton summons another bomb at you. For just one brief instant, one single frame of animation, it looks like you're wearing a bomb as a hat. Pretty funny. Ouch! Ugh! Oof! Ugh! Ow! Ugh! Eek! Ugh! Ooh! Ugh!

Critical Hit Message:

The skeleton makes a gesture and then says something to you. It takes a second to figure out because you don't really speak skeleton, but it seems like maybe they said "Catch!" Catch what? (CRITICAL HIT!) Ow! Ooh! Oof! Ooh! Ugh! Argh!

Miss Message(s):

In their haste, the skeleton accidentally reverses the coordinates for their next bomb summoning. Sorry, New Zealand!

The skeleton summons another bomb, but the delay gives you plenty of time to dodge-roll away from the increasingly-loud whistling noise.

The skeleton tries its spell again, but bombs. In the sense of failure, I mean. You know?

Notes

  • This monster cannot be copied.
  • The ordnance magnet is affected by Item Drop bonuses and Yellow Ray mechanics. It has a 1% base drop rate with a ~97% rejection chance.
    • Using a Yellow Ray will cap the base rate, causing the magnet to have a ~3% chance to drop that fight.
  • The Axis Skeleton Ribs Puzzle makes this monster's name and image special:
    • Each soldier has a regiment number appended to its name, between 111 and 3102.
      • e.g., Axis artillery skeleton, 701st regiment
    • Each regiment's member's ribs are arranged in the shape of a specific braille letter.
  • This monster has the following resistances: 25% cold, 50% hot, 90% stench, 90% spooky, 50% sleaze
