Category talk:Locations

From A KoL Wiki

This list is a tad unwieldy. Maybe dividing it into subcategories would help. A subcategory "Adventure Locations" might be good. It would contain only those locations where you use an adventure.
Another idea would be to add a path to each location. This might look like the following.
How to get there:

This would be an extra-offer for navigation, and it would cater to the newer users.

Another idea would be to have an areas by level menu as well. I've been trying to help people in /newbie and a way to see where they can adventure by level would make it easy to tell them where to go for good stat gain. I know that the council quests give an indication of where you can go as do the individula pages, but a single place would be nice.

Why isn't Valhalla showing up on the list of articles here? Or am I blind and just not seeing it? --Doppelheathen 17:10, 21 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

  • It's not there, but you're still blind. Try the "(next 200)" link. --Ricket 06:53, 22 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

A standard for categorization?

Some of the locations with 'The' at the start of the name, are placed under 'T', while others are placed under the letter corresponding to the first letter of the next word. For example, The Boss Bat's Lair is under B and The Cemetery is under T. What's the standard procedure here? I vote for the former method. --brobot

  • Fixed. --NewZorkBat 09:02, 22 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)

Suggested additional category: Locations with Stat Requirements

I like the suggestion above of having sub-categories for "adventure locations", etc. I'd like to suggest a separate category (independent -- it wouldn't replace Category:Locations) which would list those locations which you can see before you can necessarily get into them -- like the Airship, and the Castle in the Clouds. I know that frequently I've been a bit frustrated because I see the location and I think "Okay! It's open now!" and I forget that it's not open to *me* until I get more points in my main stat. -- Antaeus Feldspar 21:14, 27 April 2006 (CDT)

  • It's a good idea, except that I think that it should be done as a separate page rather than as a category. Any volunteers? --Gymnosophist 22:19, 27 April 2006 (CDT)
