Selecting one of these to funksling first, and then selecting another item second results in the second item not being used at all. If the d12 is selected second, it works as expected. |
The d12 is a dodecahedron, the word that is as much fun to say as it is to gaze upon the object it signifies. Watch out for wumpuses, though.
Type: usable (also usable in combat)
Cannot be discardedDeals a bunch of damage of a random element
(In-game plural: d12s)
Obtained From

- Summon Dice
When Used
- In combat:

You roll the d12 on Chart XVii: Random Spells. You cast <random spell name> for Xd12 damage (Y). |
- From inventory:
![]() | ||
You decide to get a new weapon, so you roll your d12 and consult the Random Weapon Chart.
It comes up [1-12] which is... a bastard [equipped weapon]! How convenient! | ||
|
- Multi-using 2 or more (when unlocking Moving Target):
(The dice are consumed.)
Note: The number you must roll is exactly 1 more than the number rolled by whoever LAST qualified for the trophy. If they rolled a 56, you will need to roll a 57. That's why it's a Moving Target (which is getting gradually further away, and thus requiring a greater and greater number of d12s to hit the required number). See the trophy description for advice on hitting the target.
- Multi-using 2 or more (after unlocking Moving Target):

Y'know, you're never going to be able to top what happened last time. That was awesome. |
- Multi-using 2 or more (when not unlocking Moving Target):
(Dice are NOT consumed.)
Notes
- Spell names are randomly generated from a list of component parts. They can deal physical or elemental damage, although at the moment, their element does not appear to be tied to the spell name. For instance, you can get a Whirlwind of Ash or Grease -nado that deals stench damage.
- X (the number of dice rolled) is <Level>+1, capped at level 30.
- Dice are not consumed when multi-used from inventory except when unlocking Moving Target.
- If you aren't equipped with a weapon, the d12's result conveniently corresponds to a "bastard fist".

- The map to Hunt the Wumpus is based on a dodecahedron. Each room is a point, and each edge is a corridor. But the Trophy Maker uses a different plural for wumpus.
