Talk:D12
Spell names and damage ranges
Using these as a Level 15 DB. No combat item damage increasers being worn, as far as I can tell.

I think these are supposed to be randomly-generated names, much like spells like Ravioli Shurikens. The prevalence of repeated terms like "Splash", " -nado", "Ash," and "Frost" leads me to believe that. We'll probably want to make a list of the spell name components somewhere, eventually. However, at the moment, their names are not in any way matching their elemental output except in rare, coincidental situations, like "Frost -nado". This looks like a bug.
Also, trying to funksling a second item when your first is the d12 results in the second item not being used. It isn't consumed, nor does it have any effect on combat--it just doesn't get used. Slinging the other item and then the d12 works as expected, though.
Finally, there seems to be some sort of mechanic determining how many d12 you roll. I'm getting 16d12 consistently, but this page currently lists the message as 14d12. I would not be surprised if it's (level +1)d12. NeedsSpading tags, awaaaaay! --Southwest 14:41, 21 September 2011 (CEST)
Just rolled 4 d12s in combat, as level 14 TT, got 15d12 each time. --Johnny Treehugger 20:03, 23 September 2011 (CEST)
- I just threw one as a Level 13 AT, and it was 14d12. I'm leaning toward (level+1)d12. --Southwest 16:02, 26 September 2011 (CEST)
Multiplier caps at 30; as a level 150 TT, managed to roll a 31d12 a couple of times. Circle 09:44, 2 January 2012 (CET)
I tested this on a few different multis... The dice rolled was consistently level+1, on five characters, all at different levels. --TechSmurf 09:17, 26 July 2012 (CEST)
Non-Combat Use
Does the d12 always roll as 1, or can it come up as other numbers (and if so, is the effect different)? --Quietust (t|c) 21:24, 22 September 2011 (CEST)
- I got it to roll 5 and 8, got the same rest of the message and effect and duration and everything else each time. --Johnny Treehugger 20:03, 23 September 2011 (CEST)
Moving Target
So I was curious about the new trophy. I spammed /use 2 d12 && /use 2 d12 && /use 2 d12 && /use 2 d12 && /use 2 d12 until I had seen every number from 2-24 except 23, so I figured rolling 23 on 2d12 was it. Figured I'd mix it up, rolled 3d12, got 23 first try, no trophy. Went back to rolling 2d12, after a few more tries, got a 23, still no trophy. So is it just a remote chance of qualifying each time you roll 2d12, regardless of what you roll? --Johnny Treehugger 17:23, 26 September 2011 (CEST)
