Ordinarily I would caution you against picking up a literal ball of fire with your bare hands, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be affecting you. It's as though it's in some kind of magical suspended animation, preventing it from exploding or burning you or even being hot to the touch. Holding it is like holding an ethereal, room-temperature grapefruit.
I suppose a fireball is already pretty magical, so anything else magical about it shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but it's still weird.
