Interrupted, Girl
You hear a quiet whimpering coming from a pile of rubble in the ruins of the lunar colony. You run to the rubble, toss aside a few slabs of marble, and a few marbled slabs of meat, and find a wide-eyed, blonde elf girl crouching inside.
"Please, <Sir/Ma'am>," she says, sniffling, "I hid when the bad scary men came, but they got everyone else. C-c-can you help me?"
"Uh, well," you say, "it's awkward. I mean, I need to get all of these pieces of the E.M.U. to the scientists who can assemble it, and that'll help everybody. And, I mean, you've been okay so far, right? So, y'know, chin up. Keep up the good work."
"Do you even know where the assembly team is?" the elf girl asks, narrowing her eyes. "No, I didn't think so. I can take you to 'em, but you have to take me with you."
"Wait, so you mean, I have to escort you there?"
The little girl nods, smiling in a way that curdles your blood. "Uh-huh. And I'm real fragile, and I'm real likely to run off and get myself killed. But we ought to hurry. It's gonna be dark soon, and the mean men chiefly hunt at night. Chiefly."

References
- The title of this adventure is a reference to the book Girl, Interrupted and its film adaptation.
- The line regarding men hunting at night is a reference to the line that Rebecca "Newt" Jorden (on whom the spooky girl is based) says in the film Aliens after the dropship crashes: "We'd better get back, 'cause it'll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night... mostly".
- The last few lines are all referencing Escort Mission, a video game trope where the player has to escort an NPC to a target. The NPC is usually suicidal, extremely stupid, and extremely fragile, making those very frustrating.
