The official pulls the stones out of the urn and sets them on the dais one by one, calling out the colors as he does so:
"White."
"White."
"White."
He pauses for dramatic effect before pulling out the final stone.

Damn.
"Three for, one against." he declares, then looks at you. "The motion fails. You will not be our new Prince, <name>. Still, you may take solace in the fact that you managed to unite three of our four quarrelsome clans in your support. Few could claim to do as well."
He steps forward and hands you a worn paperback book. "Take this -- a consolation prize," he says. You search his face to see if he's joking, but as with all Ventrilo, it's basically impossible to tell.
The meeting comes to an end, and the assembled vampires disperse into the night. You stalk away as well, cursing your ill luck -- you were so close! Still, the night is still young, and diversions aplenty await you.
