Kite

From A KoL Wiki

kite
kite

All things considered, this is a pretty fun toy. I mean, c'mon -- it flies! The kite has many natural predators, such as trees, lightning, and angry birds, so keep it away from those things if you want to keep it. We recommend flying it only up in the atmosphere, where the air is clear.

You hold the kite aloft and take off running towards your opponent. Before you get there, however, that stupid tree eats your kite again. You hate that tree!

References

  • The line "up in the atmosphere, where the air is clear" is a reference to the song "Let's Go Fly a Kite", from the movie Mary Poppins.
  • Charlie Brown, from the classic comic strip Peanuts, lost most of the kites he tried to fly to a "kite-eating tree."
  • "You start winding the string around him snowspeeder-style, and tangle it all up" is a reference to a scene in The Empire Strikes Back, where the Rebels tripped up Imperial AT-ATs by firing grapnels mounted on snow-speeders at them and wrapping cable around their legs.
