  • A "potato cannon" which is a "weapon of mass destruction" is a reference to a Spud gun, a device typically made using PVC pipe and using flammable gas and an igniter to launch potatoes.
  • "It doesn't make a hole perpendicular to anything" is a reference to the They Might Be Giants song Ana Ng, which contains the line "Make a hole with a gun perpendicular / to the name of this town in a desktop globe".
