This is a little vial full of poison from a pygmy adder, the poisonous snake that pygmy accountants keep as pets. It's deadly in large doses, but in small doses it can help keep one's attention riveted on a long string of short sums (or vice versa). All the pygmy accountants agree: nothing helps you concentrate like adder oil.
