Returning to the Tomb
While stumbling through the Burial Ground, you come across a rare sight -- an undefiled tomb! And what kind of Adventurer would you be if you didn't at least consider defiling it?
Pry open the door |
- The first ten times:
You pry open the door of the tomb, and find just about what you'd expect: several big stone sarcophagi.
You open them up, one by one, and it turns out that most of them contain zombified hobos, who shamble off into the Burial Ground after thanking you for freeing them (by grunting incomprehensibly -- you're basically just assuming that they thanked you.)
The last sarcophagus, however, is full of Meat. Must've been hidden here by some enterprising hoarder from the surface world. Finders keepers, though, that's what you always say. You summon Richard and have him carry the Meat back up to your clan coffer for you.
![]() | 9,000−11,000 Meat has been deposited in your clan coffer. |
- If the door has been pried open for the tenth time already:
You pry open the door of the tomb, and find it empty. It turns out the tomb had been defiled, it had just been defiled by some very tidy, very courteous grave-robbers.
Disturb not ye these bones |
You decide not to raid this particular tomb. Your back sort of hurts.
Occurs at The Ancient Hobo Burial Ground.
Notes
- Opening the tomb adds about 5-10 additional spooky hobos to the Ancient Hobo Burial Ground.
- After opening 10 tombs this adventure will no longer occur in the current instance of the Hobopolis clan dungeon.
- Opening tombs increase Monster Level. ML is increased 40+6*(number of tombs opened).
References
- The note about "raiding this tomb" is a reference to Tomb Raider. The protagonist, Lara Croft, may be prone to back pain due to her unusually large breasts.
- The title "Returning to the Tomb" may be a reference to the song entitled "Shoehorn with Teeth" by They Might Be Giants in which the full lyric is "What's the sense in ever thinking about the tomb when you're much too busy returning to the womb?"
