Talk:First Mate's Log
I'm under the impression I get something fundamentally wrong: Each time I choose an option that's supposed to block a certain creature, it doesn't work. I loose the resources and get the message, but it only took 3 turns for the ferocious roc to return. The shark even appeared the very next adventure. Adding Monsters works fine, though... --Yatsufusa 09:22, 12 January 2013 (CET)
It does not block as in no longer appearing, it blocks as in eats less crew. --OldJanitor 09:29, 12 January 2013 (CET)
- I see. Thank you for the explanation. --Yatsufusa 09:38, 12 January 2013 (CET)
A note about blocking - it doesn't last the whole voyage, and there doesn't seem to be a message when your bubble barrier or whatnot fades. I'll try to research this and update the document with how long blocks do last. --the_iron_troll 25:25, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
Rework
I think this page needs to be reworked. The sets of choices appear to be based on one person's encounter, and do not accurately reflect when / where the choices can actually appear. These are not sorted so, when faced with a set of choices, you can't easily find the ones you have. As noted above, the use of the word "block" is confusing. Some of the costs of doing things are ranges, but are just a single number here.
I propose removing all mention of set, then arranging them in alphabetical order, and then including a more readable infobox / effect summary with each. Example blow. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 21:18, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

Blocking more than 1 monster
Drawing a storm cloud on the shower wall appears to block more than just the Deadly-Hydra. A fearsome giant squid was blocked with the following message: "A bolt of lightning flashes out and strikes a tentacle that was poised to strangle a crewman. It flinches in pain and returns to the sea." Skullrock (talk) 18:34, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
