Lesser Fruit Golem

Now that there is a Lesser Fruit Golem which drops an orange, has the Fruit Golem changed to drop some other fruit? -- Cyferpunk, 14:29 09 Sep 2005 (Eastern Daylight Time)

• I don't believe the regular fruit golem has been altered in any way. The Lesser Fruit Golem only provides a selection of fruits which are available in The Hippy Store. This fruit golem also drops cherries and limes. I was also fairly certain it dropped grapefruits, jumbo olives, and a handful of other fruits as well, although I could be mistaken. --Aardvark 15:31, 13 Sep 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

The way I read this is the second "they" refers to the golems themselves, and the "internal bleeding" is a common outcome (although typically minor) of "fruity" behavior. (That's the PG description of reference, at least.)

• You're putting too much thought into this. "Fruity" is commonly used as an insult. Ergo, one would not call a Fruit Golem a Fruity Golem because one would not like to be beaten. And I doubt that the second "they" refers to the golems, since that would mean that one pronoun was used for two different groups in the same sentence. That's really bad form, especially for someone who writes as much as Jick does.--Discordia 15:37, 28 September 2006 (CDT)

Getting Hit With Grapefruits

• Okay, apparently, the Tuesday update that introduced Tetanus and whatnot also made it so that when this thing hurls a grapefruit at you, you actually receive a grapefruit. I've put the acquire message in right below that particular hit message, but if someone gets hit with that hit message and doesn't receive a grapefruit (or if it just doesn't look right), then it should probably get its own separate section.--Hogulus 17:34, 8 March 2007 (CST)
• I tried grapefruit-stasising today (hey, I was desperate), and found that I was unable to obtain two grapefruits from one adventure. The first fight I got a grapefruit on the first round, then none for the next fifteen or so. The second time, I got a grapefruit on the second round, then none for the next twenty. The third time, I got a grapefruit on round five and none for the next ten. That's enough evidence for me, so I'm putting it in the Notes section. I certainly encourage others to test this, though, since it's still possible (albeit unlikely) that I was just RNGed.--Buttons 13:26, 19 March 2007 (CDT)
  • A good way to test this would be see if it's possible to get the "It whacks you with a grapefruit..." message more than once a battle. If you get it a second time without the grapefruit, it probably means something. --TheDotGamer 19:43, 19 March 2007 (CDT)
