Talk:Goth Giant
Ok, I just got the following message: "This fight is being ended because it took more than 30 rounds, which is sort off unreasonable.
You lose. You slink away, dejected and defeated"
Has anyone else gotten this? Is it unique to the Giant?--Zelandoni 16:42, 26 February 2007 (CST)
- Nope, that's common to all combats, even the NS. --Starwed 17:21, 26 February 2007 (CST)
- Ok, Thanks. I just didn't know that. --Zelandoni 23:28, 26 February 2007 (CST)
The reference to the laxatives - poss a reference to the Young Ones comedy series where Rik tries to overdose on laxatives? From the script of the episode Bambi
Rick: I feel sorry for you, you zeros, you nobodies. What's going to live on after you die? I'll tell you -- nothing, that's what!
Exasperated, Rick gives up on hanging himself and jumps down from the chair. He grabs a large bottle of pills, shows it to the others, and starts stuffing pills into his mouth
Neil: [sotto voce to Vyvyan] Vyv, Vyv, uh, can you, like, actually kill yourself with laxative pills?

- I'm more inclined to think it a reference to "Granny's little chocolate pill" from the Goldie Pinklesweet poem in Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator:
- You see, how could young Goldie know,
- For nobody had told her so,
- That Grandmama, her old relation
- Suffered from frightful constipation.
- This meant that every night she'd give
- Herself a powerful laxative,
- And all the medicines that she'd bought
- Were naturally of this sort.
- The pink and red and blue and green
- Were all extremely strong and mean.
- But far more fierce and meaner still,
- Was Granny's little chocolate pill.

- I'm more inclined to say that it's not a reference to any particular thing. Mistaking one kind of pill for another (especially laxatives) is a very common motif throughout pop culture.--Dorf (t|c) 00:22, 11 July 2007 (CDT)

Era | Date | Encountered | Warm Subject gift certificate | awful poetry journal | thin black candle | Information | Source |
Era 1 | 23-Feb-06 | 930 | 324 | 329 | 323 | Item Drop Bonus: +20% | Yiab |
23-Feb-06 | 228 | 85 | 87 | 97 | Item Drop Bonus: +40% | Yiab |
- The drop rates for these items have changed since the February revamp. In Avatar of Jarlsberg, I jiggled the Staff of the All-Steak and had an egg man (with increased effectiveness, too) out for a total of +375% item drops and only had the thin black candle drop. This implies that the other drops have < 21.1% base drop rates. Will change the main page to reflect this --Churchie (talk) 17:29, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
