Talk:Guy made of bee pollen

From A KoL Wiki

I received 7 adventures, and 18/20/20 stats --Kjacobso 09:45, 9 November 2006 (CST)

My clan and I are seeing numbers closer to the following:

6-10 adventures 10-25 of each substats 3 spleen --Bubo 10:38, 8 November 2006 (CST)

"Too many guys made of bee pollen are bad for your spleen. That many would cause it to rupture." Definitely a spleen item. --Zen Masta J 11:14, 8 November 2006 (CST)

I got 22/18/32 on a mox day, so 22/18/21. And 7adventures. --Beatrix kiddo 15:01, 8 November 2006 (CST)

My friend got 6 adventures as well. I'm making changes to the page to reflect that. --Scorpios 08:13, 11 November 2006 (CST)

Has anyone else done any research on combining this item? I have a suspicion that this item could be a component of something grander --Sharif DelMonte 09:36, 15 November 2006 (PST)

The item could be a vague reference to Futurama... -Amp Zaphrix

  • there are three problems with this:
  1. pretty much everything is a reference to everything else if you allow the former to be vague enough
  2. pretty much everything in futurama is a reference to something else, and that something else is what goes here
  3. sign your posts by following them with two hyphens and four tildes (--~~~~) as i have done here --Evilkolbot 03:19, 19 November 2006 (CST)
  • In Leila's coma dream, the reconstituted Fry is made of royal jelly and bits of his hair and skin... and don't forget his blood too ;-) Similar... sorta, evidence of intended or accidental reference... nah.--JRSiebz (|§|) 04:19, 19 November 2006 (CST)

Just thought i would note that i thought might be something to having this item in your inv and getting the butterfly dream while resting. nothing happened perhaps someone should try resting until you get the butterfly dream with both a pretty flower and man made of pollen in your invtory and see if something happens. --LoA 13:55, 7 December 2006 (CST)

Why is the Discworld take on morphogenic resonance mentioned? It seems irrelevant. --Jatopian 17:43, 24 December 2006 (CST)

  • It's from the description- basically, it means that the guy is shaped like pollen because the pollen knows that's what shape it is supposed to have. Or something. Discworld/KoL references are a minefield of strangeness. It makes sense to me, although the entire joke is bizarre. --Nifty Nobu 17:51, 24 December 2006 (CST)

Just curious... Does anyone know at what point the GMoBP stopped giving adventures? I pulled a couple in a softcore run today and was surprised to get only stats. --Sensibleb (talk) 18:11, 16 September 2019 (UTC)

The reference to how it would be creepy if the guy made of bee pollen were alive and talking, is likely a reference to various cartoon foods used in advertising to attempt to get children to eat healthy by anthropomorphizing healthy foods like apples and carrots, who often dance and sing about getting eaten because they're healthy. --Rick Tyger (talk) 07:45, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
