tier 10, maybe 9? It has virtually no utility.--Xoutkastx3 14:44, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

tier 4/5? day one and on, 3 base boozes to go with perfect ice cubes; plus fruit.--Xoutkastx3 14:44, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

Plinking

8 different skills are rated based on their usefulness for plinking, which this analysis states "plinking strategy that nearly every player uses through the first few levels." However, according to Combat_Style#Plinking, plinking is a now obsolete strategy, that disappeared after a 2013 revamp. So what is the current plinking situation and do those 8 skills need to be edited in this hardcore skill analysis page

Healing

Having started a multi with 0 IOTM and 0 perm skills. I have to say that meatflow is utterly crippling if you have 0 IOTM and 0 perms. I would say the first thing you should perm on a new account is a healing skill. Any healing skill will do really so long as you have one. --Taltamir (talk) 14:29, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

  • Let me elaborate. In softcore you can just mallbuy blessed rustproof +2 gray dragon scale mail for practically nothing and pull it. No urgent need for a healing skill. But in hardcore you are far more limited. Tier 1 are skills that are considered essential, as in "don't do hardcore without them", if someone is looking at tier 1 at all it is because they have a brand new account, likely with 0 skills permed and 0 IOTMs. Sure, you can completely eliminate the need for a healing skill with enough other skills and IOTMs, but the same could be said for any other skill. The fact that you need a powerful IOTM or multiple other skills to compensate for a lack of a healing skill shows just how critically important it is to have one. And if you are having one, it might be the most efficient one, tongue of the walrus. --Taltamir (talk) 16:31, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

Crimbo 2018 Carols need to be added to "Automatically Hardcore Permanent" category

The three carols that were introduced in Crimbo 2018 - Carols of the Bulls, Hells, and Thrills - should be added to the table at the bottom of the page, the table that lists skills that are automatically marked as hardcore permanent. As they double weapon damage, spell damage, and give +3 stats per fight, respectively, they're incredibly useful.

I'd do it myself, but I'm not great at adding new content and links and stuff to tables. :/ --KelpTheGreat (talk) 19:55, 13 August 2019 (UTC)

Harpoon!, Tricky Knifework, and Missing skills in general

So, I have 3 questions I'd like to address: First, about Harpoon!: nowhere on harpoon's page is there are reference to it needing to be underwater, except for the fact that back in 2010 this used to be the case. So either Harpoon should not be in tier 10, or the wiki page for that needs updating. As someone without the skill Harpoon!, I can't really test this.

The second is of Tricky Knifework. I've found it to be useful as a Disco Bandit (and perhaps as an Accordion Thief as well, but I don't have it permed) for handling the half-sized scalpel for the hidden hospital portion of the Holy Macguffin quest. Perhaps players with more perms might just use spells to deal damage instead, or be able to buff themselves enough to use it, but I thought it was somewhat relevant. Not sure if it's relevant enough to add to the description though, or if that'd maybe warrant a bump to tier 8 (class specific), but I figure it's at least worth something.

The last is the general state of the page. There are dozens of skills missing from here. What's the process for adding stuff to it? I wouldn't mind contributing myself, but this doesn't seem like the sort of page I should make changes to without consulting others.

Just posting this for anyone to use in updating the page as I have it. Edit it as things get added. Discordance (talk) 02:14, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
