Talk:Into the Outpost

From A KoL Wiki

The location of the merk-kin stashbox seems to depend on having the mer-kin lockkey in inventory (It can be YR'd) and SOME RANDOM option in "Into the Outpost" - It seems to vary by character. My stashbox came from a choice that was supposed to return a shield. I updated that page accordingly, but a note needs to go on this page to let people know it's random by character. --Josmul123 (talk) 05:53, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

It's different for every character but there is some control. Whichever enemy dropped the key for you will have its camp contain the box in one of three options (not sure if the option itself, once the key drops, is random). I found it from a healer and found my box in one of the healer tent options. Argus (talk) 06:26, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

It appears that it will only appear on the third unique area you look. At least, that's how it's happened for the past 3 times that I've gotten the stashbox. Anybody else care to confirm? --The ErosionSeeker (talk) 23:16, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

  • I don't think it took me three tries, but I was more on the lookout for text not in the wiki than attempts made. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 23:42, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
  • Got it on the 2nd try. --Fig bucket (talk) 21:52, 22 April 2013 (UTC)

What triggers this?

I've spent literally hundreds of turns in the Mer-Kin Outpost, and I've never seen the "Into the Outpost" adventure. Are there any pre-requisites that I could be missing? --Drewster (talk) 15:27, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

  • Possession of the mer-kin lockkey and at least -5% combat.--Cannonfire40 (talk) 16:22, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Stashbox

OK, I think I've figured out how to get the stashbox with 100% certainty. You have to count how many of each type of Mer-kin you encounter, and what number of the type of Mer-kin you got the key from dropped the key (eg. burglar, raider, burglar, healer, healer, raider who drops the key would mean you'd have raider #2 remembered). Then, you choose the tent appropriate to the Mer-kin that dropped the key, and choose the Nth option, n being the number of enemy that dropped the key.

I'm surprised no-one had mentioned this theory before, as it seems pretty simple.

Also, I tested it out once, and it worked, so can other people give this a go before I add this to the wiki? --KingBobson (talk) 06:34, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

  • Nope. The 2nd healer encountered dropped the key, but the box was in the first option. --Fig bucket (talk) 12:38, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
