Talk:Mr. Alarm, I Presarm
From A KoL Wiki
RoyalTonberry / MindlessGames changed my edit with the comment: "correcting a gross misrepresentation". Really? Except when I've gotten mystic shell, I can't remember not getting it first off in the zone. Color me surprised. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 00:06, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'm glad for that information since I frequently get it first time, but other times I have failed to get it several times in a row. I had no idea it was affected by combat frequency modifiers. I always assumed it was just a straight-up superlikely. Now I know. I suspect that those times I failed to get it several times in a row were times I tried it right after the Hidden City where I run ++combat. Oops. --Bale 00:12, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yep. February 19, 2008. I have definitely failed to get the first encounter several times before getting it, when the trigger is active. The second time (when you get the mega gem) is a 100% superlikely though. --RoyalTonberry 01:15, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- I agree it does not have to be on the first turn, but I don't understand "like a superlikely". Is there any proof that it is affected by combat modifiers? If I remembers TPTB's explanation, an adventure can either be a superlikely OR be affected by combat modifiers, there is no "like a superlikely" --Muhandes 11:44, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Calling it a "one-time conditional non-combat" is a little cumbersome. It acts a lot more like a superlikely than other one-time conditional non-combats such as the friar's three ritual pieces. --RoyalTonberry 13:17, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- That does not answer my question. Why do you think it isn't simply a superlikely, unaffected by combat modifiers? --Muhandes 13:51, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Please click the link that's I handily posted for everyone like 5 lines up. --RoyalTonberry 14:14, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think I made the text on the page clearer now. --Muhandes 14:51, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

This adventure does not require reading "I Love Me, Vol. I". In my current run, I got Mr. Alarm on the second turn (with +15% non-combat), and after making the stew, got the Mega Gem on the first turn (with +/-0% non-combat.) --Terion 21:28, 6 February 2012 (CET)
- Was this using a build of Mafia that automatically used the book?--Toffile 04:20, 7 February 2012 (CET)
- I do not use KoLMafia. I have not used the book in many ascensions and gotten this adventure without problem. I didn't think there was any question about the book being unnecessary or I would have spoken up sooner. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 05:55, 7 February 2012 (CET)
July 2, 2010 change
- [valhalla] Hellion: On the 2nd Jick fixed Mr. Alarm so that it's a regular superlikely instead of a backwards-logic superlikely.
- [valhalla] LadyMartini: which means what?
- [valhalla] greycat: So it's intentionally slower now
- [valhalla] greycat: Ugh.
- [valhalla] greycat: Will combat rate modifiers still affect it?
- [valhalla] MegaBrian: Wonderful...
- [valhalla] Hellion: It's intentionally as slow as it was meant to be.
- [valhalla] Hellion: Yes.
- [valhalla] Hellion: But in the right direction now.
