Would the line "If you find some, go ahead and put all of them in this one basket, though." be a reference to the old proverb about "Do not put all your eggs into one basket"? -blahking

The statement: "Can be purchased from The Market on Oyster Egg Day. Equip it to collect Oyster Eggs (which can only be collected on Oyster Egg Day)." might be wrong now, it's not Oyster Egg day today yet they're available from the Market.

Okay, correction/update: it seems something is kind of buggy with the Oyster Egg day as evidenced by the post by Xenophobe at http://forums.kingdomofloathing.com/viewtopic.php?t=79578, instead of the baskets suddenly just being changed to being available every day.
