Talk:Passive Damage

From A KoL Wiki

I thought this might be minorly useful for Frosty. I'd've sworn we had more poison-type effects, but either my search skills are failing me or I'm misremembering. I'll start linking up the appropriate pages if no one can think of a more clever name to use. --Bagatelle 20:37, 1 July 2008 (CDT)

This page is a great idea. PPB, fish scaler, etc should probably be added. --Pantsless 21:45, 17 July 2008 (CDT)

Dizzy with rage's information for prereq and activates are in the wrong spots. --Groshing 23:37, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

The Poison pen has 75% chance of poison. --Hastifer 16:12, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

I've gone through and done a pretty extensive rewrite, focusing on two big changes

  • All poison items, even if they stack, still only result in one line of damage in the game. I'm going to add more items to the Poison page, but that's a poorly understood mechanic that needs some love.
  • I separated all Extra Attacks vs. Stinging Damage (as described in the intro). Note that the bottle opener belt buckle is a bug in the game...it should be only activating when hit per its enchantment, but it in fact activates regardless of being hit.
  • The broken bricko brick is weird. It appears to be part of the first queue of items, but its hard to confirm that at my current level.
  • Does Passive deleveling (croquet hedgehog, the other two Crimbco off-hands, etc.) belong on this page?

Spooky Alphabet Block

The passive damage kind of damage these do fall between old-school calculator watch and familiar equipment. I'll be able to narrow that down later.-Foggy (talk) 16:57, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Bleeding

So....bleeding is weird. There are a few (not many) items that cause bleeding, but several seem to stack independently. tin snips, sawblade fragment, sugar shank (on critical), jagged scrap metal. The remorseless knife only appears to cause bleeding if one of these is not already in effect however. I've reported it as a bug, and it may take a while to place this on the list.-Foggy (talk) 19:31, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

  • just a follow-up..Gemelli confirmed that the remorseless knife thing is a bug.-Foggy (talk) 19:20, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Order of displaying items

Currently the page displays both Extra Attack items and Stinging items in the order in which messages show in combat. I suggest we don't use this order because it becomes impossible to add new items unless you already have all the existing items, so you can see where in the order the new item belongs. We should order them by highest damage, and then alphabetically instead, or even just alphabetically if we don't know damage ranges for all items. --Tiny Plastic Andalite (talk) 08:18, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
