Talk:Spring Raindrop Attack

From A KoL Wiki

I just got 24 HP and 23 MP from a single use of this skill. It seems the 10-20 range is wrong. --Melon 13:40, 3 September 2008 (CDT)

Over the course of 200 to 300 adventures, I've been getting 11-28 in both HP and MP. So either it depends on something else, or the range is wrong. --Friederike 14:50, 3 September 2008 (CDT)

I just received a rare 30 HP from this skill. I would guess that 30 MP is possible too. It seems as if the outlying numbers don't occur as often. Perhaps the restoration functions on a bell curve? --Kingdomsora 08:46, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Looks like it scales with bonus damage. With every bit of +melee damage I could get my hands on, I got it up to 39 (and consistently higher than average). I don't know about elemental damage. --Friederike 20:53, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

I believe it regens your hp/mp based on your weapon power. Since the haiku katana is always power 100, it was always the same. However, we now have a familiar that can equip our katanas for us while we wield anything we like. I'm using the raindrop attack with a gatorskin umbrella in my mainhand, a hobo code binder in my offhand, and my disembodied hand familiar equipping the katana. When I forgot to reequip my umbrella once and did a raindrop, I was healed exactly 2 hp/mp. With the umbrella (power 140), I'm getting an upwards of 35 each. Spades, let 'er rip :D --TW 02:57, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm going to second the weapon power theory. I was adventuring with haiku katana in my main hand and brimestone bludgeon in my off hand and getting the standard results. I then switched to brimstone in the main hand, and I suddenly just healed 33 hp and 44 MP. --CluckyB 17:07, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I know this is wrong, I just got 45 HP/ 43 MP + elemental damage = 130, this may have something to do with it In adition to the above, I was wielding a Hodgman's whakking stick in my mainhand, via doulbe fisted skull smashing ----Insanerd

  • I'm going to third the weapon power theory. I on the other hand have been adventuring recently with a chefstaff equipped in my main hand and a katana on the off hand. upon using the skill, i only get healed around 0-3hp/0-3mp. and since the power of the chefstaff is only 10 power, I'm guessing this is based on weapon power ---- silva
  • The weapon power theory is definitely correct, or rather weapon damage. I just edited all of the pages that gave values for the spring raindrop attack to account for data I collected over about 630 turns. The data I collected can be found here: [[1]]. The formula I posted holds true very well once total weapon damage reaches about 100, with it being not so accurate before that. Base on my runs with 1003 and 759 total weapon damage, I found the restoration to be capped. I estimated 440 by using 65 is a theoretical max and figuring out how much weapon damage that would equal. The only thing I'm still not sure about is how to account for the fact that there seems to be range that the two values can be apart from each other. (Eg, 40-38 is valid, but not 20-50 is not). If someone can look at my data and figure that out it'd be awesome. If not, the given formula still gives you a general idea. DaBaddestHic 00:12, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
    • I was going to look if my data [2] fits into your formula, but I don't understand what you mean by 'Total Weapon Damage'. You link to the weapon damage formula, but that contains things like muscle, monster defence, offhand weapon power, elemental damage and spell damage, all of which seem to be irrelevant here. Also, weapon power and bonus weapon damage don't seem to have the same weight, if you look at my data. I think your numbers are a bit skewed by always having +7 weapon damage from the passive skills. --Friederike 10:20, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
