CHOICE ADVENTURE- A CHILLER NIGHT

Study dance moves? (No effect, end adventure)

I have +65 stench damage and +40 hot damage, and yet they are just showing up as (+2)(+1) in combat. I think that these guys have elemental resistance.--Ironcheff

Here's more info about A CHILLER NIGHT:

As you're exploring the Burial Ground, you round a corner to see a sight that almost stops your heart. It's a huge convocation of undead hobos -- as if grisly ghouls from every tomb have closed in on this particular spot, to seal your doom, or something.

Instead of eating your brains, however, the ghastly hobos shamble into organized ranks and files, and begin to... dance? Yeah, they're definitely dancing. They don't seem to be paying attention to you at all, so you're pretty much free to do whatever you want.

-Study the hobos' dance moves -Dance with them -Duck out the back way

I chose Dance with them and got this result:

You get in line with the hobos and try to match steps with them, but you have no idea how to do this particular dance. You step on a handful of hobos' feet, about half of which fall off as a result, and the entire dance number falls apart. You hang your head in shame and trudge away. --WillGruff 23:23, 1 July 2008 (CDT)

Uncategorized encounter

Not certain whether this is a normal encounter or something else, so putting it here for now:

You're fighting Gothic Horror Dale, the Cemetery Casanova

You pause to consider the great number of open graves in the Hobo's Graveyard. What could have caused all of these dead hobos to reanimate into horrible undead creatures? Some kind of sorcery? you wonder aloud.

"Naw, son, tain't nothin' so complicated as sorcery," says a voice behind you. You turn to see one of the hobo zombies, grinning. "We're just wanderers, y'know? Never could stay in one place when we was alive, ain't surprisin' that bein' dead didn't stop us neither."

"Well, that makes a kind of sense, I guess," you say.

"Ayup. Oh by the way, GRAAAAAAAAAAGH."

He gets the jump on you.

He sneaks around behind you and yells "Boo!" Your heart skips a beat, and not in a romantic way.

You lose 405 hit points. (spooky damage)

You lose. You slink away, dejected and defeated.

Some Fun Data

Going solo, I've been trying to watch when the image shifts.

  • I shifted from image 0 to 1 at some unknown point.
  • I shifted from image 1 to 2 on kill 100.
  • I shifted from images 2 to 3 on kill 149.
  • I shifted from images 3 to 4 on kill 199.
  • I shifted from images 4 to 5 on kill 248.
  • I shifted from images 5 to 6 on kill 298.
  • I shifted from images 6 to 7 on kill 347.
  • I shifted from images 7 to 8 on kill 397.
  • I shifted from images 8 to 9 on kill 446
  • I finally encountered Zombo at 495 kills, with 11 defeats at the hands of Spooky Hobos. Note: it did not switch to image 10 before giving me the Zombo choice adventure.

No tomb raiding, and I've sent 2 flowers to the heap. While in the heap, I did sent one compost to the Burial Ground. --Foggy 08:53, 24 June 2008 (CDT)

Didn't start keeping track till image 5, but here's what I have. (Only used 'A Chiller Night' noncombat.)

  • Shifted from 5 to 6 with 234 kills and 3 moves busted.
  • Shifted from 6 to 7 with 272 kills and 7 moves busted.
  • Shifted from 7 to 8 with 304 kills and 13 moves busted.
  • Shifted from 8 to 9 with 343 kills and 14 moves busted.
  • Finaly, Zombo's comb with 383 kills and 15 moves busted.

My clan had somewhere between 550 to 555 kills when it shifted from 8 to 9. We opened all ten tombs, sent seven flowers, received 11 batches of compost. Found Zombo at 601. --GeeDee 00:33, 3 July 2008 (CDT)

Base Combat Frequency %

With a 35 lb Jump Suited Hound Dog and no other combat frequency modifiers, I encountered 0 noncombats over 225 turns.

After that, I wanted the meat NCs, so changed to a standard fairy, turned on the NC music from the Manor, and cast Smooth Movement. (later in the run I also equipped the ring of conflict) Over the next 232 turns I received all 10 possible meat NCs, as well as a smattering of flowers NCs (only one of which was recorded in the log because I skipped the rest after realizing their effect).

This leads me to believe that (A) combat % is always really high, or (B) it is really high until after the first ~200 or so turns (thus coinciding with my +nc%).

I have eliminated 454 spooky hobos, and presumably have over 50 hobos left (because of adding more hobos). I'm putting the hound back on, and turning off all +nc%. If I manage to get no further NC adventures, wouldn't that indicate that the zone is 95%-100% base combat?

Needless to say it wasn't a dedicated spading attempt, but it was so interesting a run I had to post it. --Hastifer 20:53, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
