Yeah, I"m curious as to why that was assumed. --Starwed 02:06, 7 July 2007 (CDT)

Disappearing Opponents

I just finished up a Uranium run on my main character, using KoL to try and track the actual order all of the hippies appear in, and see who disappears.

According to my data, I get the following:

  • Infantryman: last appearance was combat#390 during stage 20 of the fight
  • F.R.O.G: last appearance was combat #497 during stage 22 of the fight
  • Sky Captain: 540/stage 23
  • Baker: 601/stage 24
  • Fire Spinner: 646/stage 25
  • Shaman: 691/stage 26
  • Green Gourmet: 750/stage 27
  • Rigger: 798/stage 28
  • Dread Squad: 840/stage 29
  • Homeopath: 896/stage 30
  • Windtalkers: 992/stage 31**

It does appear that opponents are being moved off the table the same way they are moved on. I could probably use help verifying this, and seeing if this is analagous to the Frat Orcs. (Note: on this run, I got 4 of the 5 bosses. The only exception was Zim Merman.)

    • Last stage of battle before the single combat at stage 32.

Monster "Evolutions"

As I posted over on Talk:The Battlefield (War Hippy Fatigues), I think there's some sort of method to how the soldiers are removed and replaced. In hopes of getting closer to that method, I matched up units on the Battlefield with the units that seemed to be their "evolutions", so to speak. Like I said over there, it's nothing extraordinary at all, but I thought I'd post it somewhere. Here's what I came up with:

Bailey's Beetle - Like the Mobile Grill Unit for the Frat Boys, since this is a Junkyard unit, I can't imagine why it would have an "evolution".

Green Ops Soldier - This, like the Panty Raider Frat Boy, seems to be a "special ops" sort of unit.

War Hippy Dread Squad /?/ Mobile Armored Sweat Lodge - These two were paired up only because after everything else was done, they had no respective matches. Has any physical resistance been found in the Dread Squad?

War Hippy Sky Captain / War Hippy Airborne Commander

War Hippy Baker / War Hippy Green Gourmet

War Hippy Shaman / War Hippy Elder Shaman

War Hippy Fire Spinner / War Hippy Elite Fire Spinner

War Hippy Rigger / War Hippy Elite Rigger

War Hippy Infantryman / War Hippy F.R.O.G.

War Hippy Homeopath / War Hippy Naturopathic Homeopath

War Hippy Windtalker - This, like the Sorority Operator, seems to be a one-unit deal. The obvious comparison is the communications items they drop.

Again, just trying to put some observations somewhere. --Southwest 01:48, 5 November 2007 (CST)

Increased enemy health?

I noticed something very strange today. I'm a pastamancer currently, and went slaughtering many a frat orc. The only sidequests I had done were the junkyard and the beach for the frat side, and the orchard and the nunnery for the hippies. The frat orcs all had the health the wiki says they would, and I killed about a hundred (4 at a time) before killing some hippies.

Strange thing is, they all had a fair amount more health than the wiki states, around or maybe more than 25. I can't figure out *why*.--Pastian 21:43, 6 April 2008 (CDT)

  • Did you increase Monster Level? --Bagatelle 18:28, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
    • Nope, the only differene between one side and the other was changing my war--Pastian 21:13, 8 April 2008 (CDT) outfit.

Heroes

Does anyone know if the heroes are one-time per ascension after fighting them once or defeating them? Would an odor extractor force 40 consecutive adventures of the same hero?--Lord Swampy 18:38, 4 May 2008 (CDT)

Scratch that. I've confirmed that the odor extractor does not enforce 40 adventures of a hero. That's probably for the best. --Lord Swampy 08:03, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm doing the battlefield "the hard way", one victim at a time. After slaughtering 910 Hippies, I've encountered 4 of their 5 heroes. First Slow Talkin' Elliot after 500-600, then Neil and Zim Merman some 100 kills later, and just now, the glass of orange juice after 900 kills. That's not so rare :). They just have a chance to appear after you kill a certain number of people...--Modran 07:09, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

  • It used to be noted that avoiding the sidequests made it more likely to see the heroes. It stands to reason that events that occur less frequently are more likely to be observed if you try more often. Fast clearing of the war is can easily be just 33 adventures on the battlefield. Doing it the long way is 30 times longer. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:44, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Monster ranges

Monster ranges are incorrect and need rechecking. Just encounted a Fire Spinner at 100 dead, its down as 301+. Discordance (talk) 15:45, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
