Talk:The Cola Wars Battlefield
I request this page be moved to A Battlefield (Cola Wars) to disambiguate from The Battlefield (Mysterious Island)
Could some one add this adventure text to the Battlefield page under the eau d'tortue:
Capital!
You survey the Cola Wars Battlefield for signs of life (specifically, life that isn't going to try to kill you). Your finely-honed hunting senses pick out a glint of metal on the ground, which turns out to be a bottlecap. A bottlecap that a tiny turtle has co-opted as a replacement shell, in hermit crab-like fashion. It nips you when you pick it up, but not in an unfriendly way.
You acquire an item: bottlecap turtle --User:JakatkJakatk 09:24, 19 January 2007 (CST)
In a dyspepsi uniform, the adventures occur like this: Knapsack - 1:30 (3.3%) Soldier, footsoldier, catapult engineer - 1:1:1
So the result is about 32% for each of the fights and 3% for the knapsack.
What about Cloaca? Lord Sonny 01:04, 23 April 2006 (CDT)
Seems to be roughly the same with Cloaca. One thing I've noted that I don't see on the description is that each successful fight restores 3 MP as well. --JP 15:04, 11 July 2006 (CDT)
- That's the side-effect of wearing the Cloaca-Cola Uniform, not an intrinsic result of the battle itself. --Hellion 15:47, 11 July 2006 (CDT)
Apropos this area being unavailable: I adventured this run on the battlefield as a Disco Bandit under the sign of the packrat. If you're quick, you can see my wearing the Dyspepsi Outfit. (I'm in HC.) --Theophrastus 09:14, 14 August 2006 (CDT)
Also, the monster levels seem off. I adventured here with 37 Moxie (wearing the Dyspepsi outfit) and could easily spice everything I encountered to death while barely getting hit. --acdr 12:45, 24 August 2006 (CDT)
You need 39 Moxie to avoid every attack, not 49.
Zigota Lt 08:14, 29 August 2006 (CDT)
Shouldn't it be changed to say that it's only available to people who have ascended, due to the August changes? --Hunter tRG 11:22, 24 September 2006 (CDT)
Trick-or-treating in either uniform confirms that Dyspepsi ultimately wins the war. Any indication why? Does Jick prefer Pepsi? I only ask because it seems odd to have a winner specified at all. (However, this might explain the fact that Dyspepsi cans drop in the present and Cloaca-Cola doesn't (though White Citadel has the latter).) I'm just thinking aloud here. --BDD 23:33, 24 December 2006 (CST)
So I just ascended with a multi, got him up to level 4, and discover that the temporal rift isn't appearing in the Nearby Plains! Today is the day that Jick rolled out the new Guild quest where other parts of the Nearby Plains are now hidden, so is it a bug? Or has this rift permanently closed? --Merric 14:37, 24 Jan 2007 (EST)
Allegedly, the Counterclockwise Watch drops here when undisguised. Great, I just hit 6 today. Anyone find any more info?--DoctorWorm 01:42, 31 January 2007 (CST)
Why is this page in the Needs Confirm category? It doesn't have any tag explaining what needs confirmation, nor do I even see anything on it explicitly adding it to that category...--Salien 15:20, 5 April 2007 (CDT)
- Looks like it's info on the Temporal Bandit.--Toffile 15:48, 5 April 2007 (CDT)
Um... under refrences it still calls the adventure the time bandit, shouldn't it be changed to the temporal bandit? (i'm new at this and a bit afraid to do it myself)--CSDragon 10:22, 7 April 2007 (CDT)
i conquired my fear... it's done--CSDragon 19:35, 10 April 2007 (CDT)
New Cloaca-Cola
I'm guessing that the adventure for getting the six-pack is a semi-rare (see fortune cookie)... Anybody capable of testing this? I'm not. -Goffrie 13:08, 14 July 2007 (CDT)
Keeping the Battlefields open
There doesn't appear to be a strategy for keeping the battlefield open long enough to do everything you want to do (like get the ultra-rare, a hobo code, or a picture of a dead guy's girlfriend). Especially in hardcore.
So here's what I've come up with in a few minutes -- please feel free to critique before I make a page of it or something...
General
In any mode, the following advice is helpful:
- In the battlefield:
- as soon as possible, get in uniform -- there are less chances of getting your level boosted too high
- when in uniform, Run Away from unnecessary combats, even if you can win, to prevent stat increases (unless you need the item from the combat)
- Civilian: if you must adventure as a 'civilian' (code hunting), be careful about the choice adventures! (i.e. Mysticality classes should choose the first two options of The Effervescent Fray, never the third option).
- Outside of the battlefield (trying to boost moxie to handle the battles safely):
- minimize or avoid combats
- adventure in areas with non-combats that boost your "off" stats -- The Sleazy Back Alley has at least two non-combats that allow a Moxie boosting choice, but the downside is the number of combats
- adventure at the Barrel Full of Barrels, and only use items that increase your "off" stats (keep the main stat items for later)
Granted, the above is not normally optimal (heck its not even "normal"), but it will help keep the battlefield open while you hunt for the ultra-rare
If you're hobo code hunting, the "civilian" advice above is helpful, but keep an eye out for the no choice non-combats. These have a chance to boost your main stat too much. If you get boosted too much, try to delevel yourself.
If you're not a moxie class, the obvious dilemma is trying to get your moxie high enough to go to the Battlefield, without boosting your main stat too high for the area.
If you are a moxie class, then the dilemma is a little more focused on keeping your moxie high enough, but not too high.
Use self-deleveling Items
Clearly, in Normal mode, with sufficient funds, you can simply buy "Main stat" reducing food or booze:
For any class:
- goofballs (-X all) are the least optimal, if you're trying to keep your mox up
For Muscle Classes, in order of best de-leveling foods/booze:
- Brimstone Chicken Sandwich (-17.5 Mus, +17.5 Mox)
- ghuol egg (-3 mus)
- ghuol guolash (-15 all) not as good since you want disproportionately higher Mox
- Hell broth (-7 mus/mox) not as good since you want disproportionately higher Mox
- uncooked chorizo (-5 mus/mox) not as good since you want disproportionately higher Mox
For Mysticality Classes, you'll want to combine the first two:
- Double Bacon Beelzeburger (+17.5 Mus, -17.5 Mys)
- Brimstone Chicken Sandwich (-17.5 Mus, +17.5 Mox)
- ghuol guolash (-15 all) not as good since you want disproportionately higher Mox
For Moxie classes:
- Lord of the Flies-sized fries (+17.5 Mus, -17.5 Mox) good idea to boost your hp anyway
- ghuol guolash (-15 all)
- Hell broth (-7 mus/mox)
I was certain there was booze that lowered stats, but they aren't included on the "Best drinks" page with an entry in the stats section.
Hardcore note
In hardcore, however, getting these food items can be difficult at best, and the combats that drop them will boost your main stat higher than the losses you're trying to take.
The simple fact is that your time here in hardcore is just going to be limited a lot more than in normal mode (so save your more concentrated attempts for normal mode).
That is, unless someone knows a secret that I don't! (Please do tell)
--Hastifer 18:27, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- I just remembered -- you can adventure in a Drunken Stupor (you occasionally lose stat points & meat). Put all your meat in a closet to keep it safe, then go stumbling about until you lose the right substats!
- Again, not optimal from a character building perspective (in any respect!) but it will keep the field open for adventuring.

Accordions
There are no accordions to steal here. I've fought all 6 monsters and never received the option.--Hastifer (talk) 18:03, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
