Talk:Unexplained Tremors

From A KoL Wiki

anyone else think the mysticallity day might be the day this comes to a finish? ---godna

maybe.. but it might just be another coincidence, similiar to how it all started around arrrbor day. maybe the NS is getting more powerful again ;) --Talq 03:42, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

I think that someone should go over Golianor's addition (the Mr. Store bit) and make its writing style fit that of the rest of the page. It's too late for me to do it now, and I'll probably forget in the morning. --blazingthunder 02:58, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

So what's this about "The output when you put a familiar in your terrarium has been adjusted a little bit." How's it different now? --Jimfromtx 05:57, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Absolutely nothing related to this, you just get a piece of text saying "You decide to him/her/it <name>" appended to old message.--Toffile 06:03, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Ah, so for once, when the team says it's nothing important, it actually isn't. Unlike this whole article. Fair enough. --Jimfromtx 10:01, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually, it still might be important, but it seems unrelated to the tremors. Makes me wonder if new familiar names are on the way. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 17:41, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Spells can now get critical hits, as of August 12th--Lord Bitchalot 14:28, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

August 24th is Vesuvius Day, the memorial anniversary of Mount Vesuvius erupting and destroying Pompeii in 79AD. In our Kingdom, this is the day after the coming Yuletide and is a mysticality day. The high magic infusion seems to be like the rising magic levels followed by a cataclysm and appearance of other-worldly Horrors found in the Earthdawn game. Earthdawn storyline fictionally paralleled the Santorini/Thera volcanic explosion that destroyed the Minoan civilization. So I expect this to climax on August 24th and at the very least Hangk's will be destroyed again, ha ha! Hope beyond hope, we might even get a new "permanent" zone and monsters to add to the Kingdom. --Casca 00:58, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Nice, uh, conjecture? Bald-faced speculation? Guesses? Lies, flimflam and misdirection? It would be cool but let's not book our tickets for that flight of fancy just yet... -- Kalon999 01:59, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Yes, I believe it is a nice conjecture. Regarding the validity of the collaborating evidence presented (Vesuvius, Pompeii, Thera, Minoan civilization, Earthdawn), you could easily check these, try Wikipedia. Given the history of Hangk's bad luck, it doesn't seem unreasonable that some form of "cataclysm" in the game would level his building again ... it is a running gag. "Hope beyond hope" should also indicate it's my wish or hope that some permanent new content results from this after its conclusion, unless you believe that tremors and randomly occurring Rock monsters are going to be a perpetual aspect of the Kingdom ... I do not.--Casca 02:19, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey, have MP costs dropped again? I could have sworn Pastamancery was 10MP just a couple days ago. -Captain Video 02:44, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Today is the Festival of Jarlsberg, which reduces MP costs by 3 (up to 6). --Bobogoobo 02:58, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

"Horrifying rocky picture show" = win. --Leaper 01:18, 02 September 2009 (UTC)

Well, that looks like it's over with! That was fun. --SoItBegins 20:52, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

  • Yes, but what are the effects of the tremors stopping? Is everything just gonna go back to normal? The update really wasn't that specific. --TheNachomancer 21:08, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
    • Well, all I know is that I've been over 100 adventures in the Battlefield (Island), and so far no rock monsters. Do you need a charged magnet equipped to fight them now? --Lukarnis 07:12, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
      • Charged magenets seem to have no effect. 200 adventures in the frat house (stone age) with a charged magnet equiped and no rock monsters.--Groodude 16:55, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
      • i have a feeling they're gone. if you want to fight them you'd have to have imprinted them somehow. --Evilkolbot 11:24, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
        • Strange...what was the point of introducing so much content (especially the control crystal) when there's no way to keep fighting them? Could this be a bug, where the monsters should still have been appearing for charged magnet holders, but somehow the coding deletion broke it? Isn't it kind of strange and a bit stupid that the real value of the new content, the floaty rock equipment, JUST came out, only for the access to be cut off before many people had a chance to even make one?--Lukarnis 22:29, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
          • From radio shows I gather the event was mainly created as a mechanism to be able to introduce an MP reduction for myst spells. That way, as opposed to a more direct update, if things didn't work out the narrative element would allow the MP reduction to be easily reverted. The rest is candy, and chrys rock gave anyone who made even a small effort to participate a chance at one piece of the outfit. --Fig bucket 22:55, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
