Talk:War Frat Grill Sergeant
"On fire" effect persists!
I was surprised to see that when the War Frat Grill Sergeant sets you on fire, it does hot damage to you not only on the round his attack hits you, but on the subsequent round as well. It doesn't show up as an "official" effect (like Tangled Up, for instance) but it persists for at least one round. It may persist even longer, but I didn't wait to find out; I spent extra MP to end the fight faster.
- How many combat rounds will you take hot damage from the fire?
- Is there anything which can be applied in combat to put the fire out?

It will persist about four rounds, in addition to his regular attack. Each subsequent round, the damage is halved; starting from (around) 47-50 hot damage, until you eventually put it out. I have not found anything to extinguish the fire as of yet. --Parse 21:23, 7 July 2007 (CDT)
With serious hot protection (ie, the asbestos apron):, 34,14, 5 (and patted out). But without it, I have had it last four rounds. --Parse 21:35, 7 July 2007 (CDT)
In my experience the damage is reduced by about 2/5 each round (always rounded down), not 1/2. I just had it go from 50 to 30 to 18 to 10. I know that data from the hippies might not be reflective of what happens against this monster, but it I suspect it's the same effect; against a war hippy fire spinner, I had the damage go from 49 to 29 to 17 to 10, and against an elite fire spinner, I took 45, 27, 16, 9 damage. However, I do have +15ML so maybe that's affecting it. I'll add more data when I get it.--Knobula 09:57, 13 May 2008 (CDT)
On Fire
This is my data from 2 accounts over about 1.5 days (I know it's not a large sample, but the results are quite informative).
- grill sergeant
- 42, 25, 15
- 41, 24, 14
- senior grill sergeant
- 47, 28, 16
- fire spinner
- 48, 28, 16, 9
- 47, 28, 16
- 46, 27, 15, 9
- 50, 30, 18, 10, 6
- elite fire spinner
- 49, 29, 17, 10, 6
- 44, 26, 15, 9
- 44, 26
- 49, 29, 17, 10, 6
- 50, 30, 18, 10, 6
A tiny bit of calculation will show you that the damage inflicted is 40-50 on the first round, and 3/5 or .6 (always rounded down) of the previous round every round after the first round of combat. Furthermore, you do not always 'pat out the flames' after the fourth round (as has been speculated) of having this effect. In 4 battles, the effect lasted 5 rounds (again, I know it's not a large sample, but a pattern has been established). I'm pretty sure that the effect lasts until the damage received is less than 10. Fortunately, due the damage always being rounded down, this only happens if the initial damage is 49 or 50
- note that I had no hot protection, but +15 ML, which may have affected the damage I received, but I doubt it.--Knobula 23:01, 14 May 2008 (CDT)
Beer can chicken
May refer to a part of the short story "Sunbird" written by Neil Gaiman. The story features a method of cooking the sunbird (which may have been chicken for this case) by roasting it on a can of beer. --Myst44 00:58, 28 July 2007 (CDT)
