Talk:Witchess Ox

From A KoL Wiki

For the past few runs, I've always needed around 2500 damage to kill it, it's plausible that it just scales to your stats but its HP is fixed at 2500 or somewhere near that. It would kind of be in line with the rest of the Witchess bosses being 2000, 3000, and 4000, respectively. --The ErosionSeeker (talk) 20:18, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

It appears that 2500 is the minimum, which is definitely worth noting. However, past a certain threshold of player stats or HP (I'm not sure which), the Ox's HP scales up by some mechanism with an apparently random component. I'm not sure if anybody's figured it out. --Prestige (talk) 21:39, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
The max appears to be 5000 DEF. And yeah, the HP is somewhat random. I've got 41250 and 75000 HP. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 15:27, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
Was running +10 ML (so 5010 DEF) and I got 37570, 45084, and 71383 HP. Weird. Most scaling monsters have HP based on DEF (e.g. maxed Crimbo monsters with +10 ML have 10010 DEF and 7507 HP), so this equates to 2500+DEF*7, 3000+DEF*7*1.2, and 5000+DEF*13.25. Weird! --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 19:20, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
So I got the following HP values at +10 ML:
  • 75,140
  • 71,383
  • 67,626
  • 60,112
  • 56,355
  • 52,598
  • 48,841
  • 45,084
  • 41,327
  • 37,570
Theoretically there should be a 63,869 in there.
I then threw on +60 more ML (+70 total), and I got 76,040, 68,436, and 38,020. This doesn't fit with my previous data of [baseline]+DEF*[mult]. But, it does fit PERFECTLY with a new formula: floor(DEF*0.75)*Q, where Q is a random integer between 10 and 20. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 17:49, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
