Meat Shields vs Naughty Sorceress

Here's everything I know. I walked up to the NS with plenty of Muscle but lousy Moxie, got hit for a bunch, then managed to stick a Meat Shield my first round of combat. Spent the next few rounds casting Meat Shields again, getting it blocked most of the time, but ended up with around 3-4 rounds of the buff active (don't remember exact number). Entered mindless autoattack mode, beat form 1. Mindless autoattack, beat form 2. Mindless autoattack, beat Corman. Looked at character sheet, had 1-2 rounds of MS left (again, don't remember exact number). I have no idea what people are posting about Meat Shields or if anything's changed since August 24 (I'm guessing not), but that's what worked for me. --Johnny Treehugger 17:15, 5 September 2012 (CEST)

VIP Key note: Baron Von Ratsworth

So, I assume most people never think about this, because in *most* hardcore runs, the monocle is optimal because yay item drops. However, zombies get Smash & Graaagh, which makes item drop % unnecessary for most things you'd normally use it for.

Anyway, consider the actual necessity of the common buffs on day 1. Put simply, they don't exist. By the time you're the level to complete most of those quests, you can easily do so at a high ML, especially with sparing use of bear hug.

Therefore, I posit that the +60~90 (depending on noncombats) substat points on day 1 gained from using the baron's hat at the mad tea party by setting the radio down to 9 (for one measly battle) is actually more optimal than acquiring the monocle at a setting of 10, at least in certain ranges of acquired skill points.

Does anyone want to provide an argument against this that doesn't summarize to "that's stupid and you're stupid"? --HikaruYami 18:20, 24 September 2012 (CEST)
