You trudge through the desert, head lowered and hands to your brow to keep the sun out of your eyes. A slight movement on the parched desert floor draws your attention. Looking closer, you find what looks to be some sort of worm or caterpillar struggling across the scorched terrain.

You pick it up for a closer inspection, and discover -- eurgh! -- it's a severed finger! It twitches and wriggles in your hand, then begins to inchworm its way up your arm. With a shudder of revulsion, you pluck it from your sleeve and stow it in your pack.

What? Throw it away? Don't be silly, you're an adventurer.
