• Part of the item's description, which originally read "one of the hardest metals known the man" (and resulted in a constant stream of erroneous typo complaints), is taken from a particularly stupid GameFAQs post that went on to become a meme.
• The low value of this item isn't entirely ironic. Diamonds are actually a lot more common than many other precious stones, but their demand and thus their value has been artificially inflated by the diamond industry through marketing.
