• October 2005's item of the month from Mr. Store.
• Changes into almost any familiar, not just the ones you own. It will not change into the Comma Chameleon, Mad Hatrack, Disembodied Hand, El Vibrato Megadrone, Reassembled Blackbird or into itself. As of April 2010, it can change into any of the April Fools Familiars.
• Due to White Wednesday, the Doppelshifter was in Mr. Store for over a month (closer to 40 days), making it the longest-running Mr. Store familiar as of September 2007.
• The Doppelshifter is sometimes a familiar of choice for PvPers as its +15 equipment can be advantageous in the "Familiar Weight" minigame. The tiny costume wardrobe raises its weight by +25, making this even more advantageous.

• Gluttonous Green Ghost: If your other familiar is charged, the Doppelshifter can use up its charges.
• Slimeling: If your other familiar is charged, the Doppelshifter can use up its charges.
• Penguin Goodfella: Can give Goodfella contracts and will react appropriately when one is used.
• Green Pixie: Can give tiny bottles of absinthe.
• Llama Lama: Can give llama lama gongs.
• Baby Sandworm: Can give agua de vida.
• Purse Rat: Does not increase Monster Level.
• Mini-Hipster: Can self equip an Ironic moustache and not wearing another piece of familiar equipment.
• Jack-in-the-Box: Will give the item and stat bonuses on its third turn as this familiar.
