References
- The second line of the haiku is a reference to the Elvis Presley song, "Teddy Bear."
- The "Danse Macabre" mentioned in the miniature gravy-covered maypole message is a reference to either the medieval allegory on the universality of death, the tone poem by Camille Saint-Saëns, the book by Stephen King, or a reference to the song by The Faint, "Danse Macabre".
- Teddy bears in the Super Nintendo game EarthBound were used to absorb damage, and died after taking a few hits.
- The Evil Teddy Bear may also be a reference to the Tediz Bastards from the video game, "Conker's Bad Fur Day."
